Content Removal Request

Last updated: [DATE]
Template document. This text is a good-faith starting point drafted for an adult user-generated-content platform — it is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It must be reviewed, completed and adapted by qualified counsel for [JURISDICTION], and every bracketed placeholder filled in, before DefoHub relies on it.

1. What this process is for

If you appear in content on DefoHub and you did not consent to it being recorded, published, or sold — or you have withdrawn that consent — you can have it taken down. This route is separate from copyright: you do not need to own the video, and it does not matter who filmed it. If you want content removed because you own the rights to it, use our DMCA / Copyright Policy instead.

This process covers, among other things:

  • Intimate images or video shared without consent, including “revenge porn” and leaked private material.
  • Recordings made secretly, or made with consent but published without it.
  • Content you consented to at the time and have since withdrawn consent for.
  • Deepfaked, face-swapped, or AI-generated sexual imagery of a real person.
  • Content in which you were under 18, or were coerced, trafficked, or incapacitated.
  • Exposure of personal information — your legal name, address, workplace, or contact details.

2. Who may submit a request

The person depicted; a parent or legal guardian; a legal representative or advocate acting with authority; or a support organisation or law enforcement officer acting on the person’s behalf. Third-party reports from people not depicted are still welcome — send them through our Complaint & Abuse Policy — but we can only confirm the outcome to the person depicted or their representative.

3. What to send

Email compliance@defohub.com with the subject line “Content removal request” and include:

  1. The full URL of every video, short, image, or post concerned, plus timestamps if you appear in only part of it.
  2. Which person in the content is you (for example “the person on the left from 00:42”).
  3. A short description of why the content should be removed — no consent, withdrawn consent, deepfake, under 18, personal information exposed.
  4. A statement, made in good faith, that you are the person depicted or are authorised to act for them.
  5. Contact details we can reply to.
  6. If you have it, anything that helps us verify the claim — a matching selfie, an existing DefoHub account, or authority documents if you are acting for someone else.

You do not need to send an identity document to start. We ask for identification only where it is genuinely necessary to resolve a contested claim, we use it solely for verification, and we delete it once the check is complete, as described in our Privacy Policy. Never send us more sensitive material than we ask for, and never send us the intimate content itself — a URL is enough.

4. What we do, and how fast

  • Acknowledgement within 48 hours of receiving your request.
  • Content is made unavailable pending review as soon as a credible non-consent claim is received. We do not wait for the review to finish, and we do not ask you to negotiate with the uploader.
  • A decision within 7 days of acknowledgement, communicated to you in writing with the reason.
  • Immediate action, ahead of any queue, for reports involving a minor, an identified safety risk, or trafficking — with preservation of evidence and referral to law enforcement and NCMEC as applicable.

Where a request is upheld we delete the content and its derivatives from public delivery, remove it from search and recommendations, add a perceptual hash of it to our block list so the same material cannot be re-uploaded, and take action against the uploading account under our Terms of Service — up to permanent termination and forfeiture of related earnings. Related records are retained in restricted storage where the law requires it.

5. If we cannot verify your request

We will tell you what is missing and keep the content unavailable while we wait, within reason. If we ultimately cannot establish that you are the person depicted, we will say so and explain what would change the outcome. You can ask a human to re-review any decision once, by replying to our email within 30 days.

6. Uploader appeals

An uploader whose content is removed under this policy is told the category of the complaint, without your identity or contact details, and may appeal once by providing documented, verifiable consent from every person depicted. Content is only restored where that consent is established. Consent can be withdrawn again at any time.

7. Other help

Removal from DefoHub does not remove the material from anywhere else on the internet. If the content appears on other sites, consider a StopNCII-style hashing service and, where you are at risk, contact your local police. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services first. Escalations about how we handled your request: compliance@defohub.com, marked “escalation”.
