Complaint & Abuse Policy
1. Scope
Anyone — user or not, account or not — can report content or behaviour on DefoHub. Every report is read by a trained human reviewer. Reporting is free, and you will never be charged, asked to pay, or asked to negotiate with the person you are reporting.
2. What to report
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any sexual depiction of a minor, including material that presents an adult as a minor or is AI-generated.
- A performer who was underage at the time of production, even if they are an adult now.
- Non-consensual content — leaked, secretly recorded, deepfaked, or published after consent was withdrawn.
- Human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or coercion, including anyone who appears to be under duress.
- Real violence, self-harm, bestiality, or necrophilia.
- Harassment, threats, stalking, doxxing, or hate speech.
- Impersonation, fraud, spam, scams, or paywall circumvention.
If you are the person in the content, the Content Removal Request route is faster and gives you a decision in writing. Copyright complaints go through the DMCA / Copyright Policy.
3. How to report
Use the Report control on any video, short, profile, comment, or message, or email compliance@defohub.com. Include the full URL, the timestamp, the category, and anything that explains why the content is a problem. Please do not attach the material itself; a link is enough, and forwarding illegal imagery can put you at legal risk. Reports may be made anonymously, though we then cannot report the outcome back to you.
4. What happens after a report
- Triage. Every report is classified on receipt. CSAM, underage, trafficking, and imminent-harm reports are escalated immediately, ahead of any queue, 24 hours a day. All other reports are triaged within 24 hours.
- Interim removal. Content in a priority category, or the subject of a credible non-consent claim, is made unavailable while it is reviewed. We do not leave it up during the investigation.
- Review. A human reviewer assesses the content against our Terms of Service, requests the creator’s age and consent records where relevant (see our §2257 statement), and reaches a decision — normally within 7 days.
- Action. Outcomes range from reinstatement, through age or content labelling, removal, demonetisation and payout hold, temporary suspension, up to permanent termination of the account and any linked accounts. Removed material is hashed so it cannot be re-uploaded.
- Referral. Where content appears to be criminal, we preserve the evidence and associated account data and report it to law enforcement in the relevant jurisdiction. Suspected child sexual abuse material is reported to NCMEC (the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) and to local authorities, the account is terminated, and payouts are frozen.
- Notification. If you gave us contact details, we confirm when the review is complete and what category of action was taken. We do not disclose another user’s personal information to you.
5. Protection for reporters
Retaliation against someone who files a report is itself a violation and is actioned as such. We do not disclose your identity to the reported account. Reports made in good faith are never held against you, but knowingly false or automated mass reporting is abuse of this process and can lead to suspension.
6. Appeals
If your content was removed or your account restricted, you may appeal once within 30 days by emailing support@defohub.com with the case reference. Appeals are reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original decision. Appeals are not available for terminations relating to child sexual abuse material, trafficking, or non-consensual content where the facts are established.
7. Escalation
Unhappy with how a report was handled? Reply to the case email with “escalation” in the subject, or write to compliance@defohub.com, and it will be reviewed by [COMPLIANCE OFFICER NAME / ROLE] at [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. We aim to close escalations within 14 days. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the competent authority or out-of-court dispute settlement body in [JURISDICTION], and nothing in this policy limits your right to go to the police or the courts.
8. Transparency
We intend to publish a periodic transparency report covering the volume of reports received by category, actions taken, median response times, appeals and their outcomes, and the number of referrals made to law enforcement and NCMEC.
